Laura trained at the Oxford College of Garden Design after running a maintenance business in Oxford for a number of years. She has a background in photography and horticulture. She is also a Director of the Community Interest Company The Nature Effect, Oxford. and a pre-registered member of the Society of Garden and Landscape Designers.

In her spare time Laura paints in oils - still life, landscapes and gardens. The inspiration for her gardens comes from nature and people with craftsmanship and natural materials forming the basis of her creative process.
